It was early morning on Friday. The State Bank had just opened. There was quite a big rush of customers. Some had come to deposit money while others had come to withdraw it. The counter clerks were busy and no one noted the coming in of four stout youths. They entered the bank.

Basically, robbery is theft accomplished by violence or the threat of violence with a weapon. Since this element of force sits at the core of robbery, the most commonly asked question in a robberys examination alarms the time… rapid increase in street robberies that have increased almost 25% since 2012.

Robbery is a crime that happens every day in our society. It usually leads to assault or murder. The question is what causes people to commit robbery, and which criminology theory affectedly describes the pattern. The theories that would explain criminals, and why they commit this particular crime are social process theories.

Basically, robbery is the taking of money or goods in the possession of another, from his or her person or immediate presence, by force or intimidation (Lasson, 2007). This definition clearly reveals the fact that the defendant, who has taken the rifle, has not commit a robbery because he did not use weapon, force or other sorts of intimidation.
