Family health history essay

Family health history is a powerful tool for screening patients. Family nurses tracing the illnesses suffered by a patient’s family members can help predict the disorders patients and their families may be at risk for, and take appropriate action to help them maintain a healthy life.

Writing down one’s family history can be a good way for a family to connect with each other and with their ancestors. Most people would agree that it is important for families to know their history, but should all families write it down? Yes, everyone, every family should write down their history.

Health History In 2002 the CDC launched the Family History Public Health Initiative, based on the notion that family history although a simple and inexpensive form of genetic assessment is an under used but effective tool for identifying patients risks.

Although the Family History Narrative was my first assignment and an assignment I grew an attachment to, I felt that this assignment was meant to be told as a story rather than a written assignment. The oral report allowed me to convey my thought as well as the story behind it.
