Irish essay predictions

On top of this, it is highly unlikely that Cáca Milis/Lasair Choille or Hurlamaboc will come up in the Leaving Cert Irish 2019 exam since they appeared in the last two years respectively and they have both appeared on the exam twice now. Once again, predicting the poetry section of the exam can prove very difficult.

There’s a myth that says you can’t do well at comprehensions unless you develop your overall ability in Irish. Not true! Every time you do an exam comprehension you should highlight the words you don’t understand, get out a dictionary and learn them. 2) You don’t need to understand everything, you just need to get the gist of what is being said.

This is because she was examined in 2020 (and three times in total in the last 10 years). The SEC has put poets on twice in a row, but it’s more of an exception than the rule. She is the only Irish female poet – the SEC seems to favour them – so not a bad bet, regardless.

*NOTE* an essay on young people comes up almost every year so it is a good idea to have a section on young people in all of your essays – e.g. how young people use technology, how young people are affected by politics, how young people use the health system in Ireland etc.
